A visit full of promise: the World Bank visits Venus Agricole
Date: March 2025
Venus Agricole was honored to host a delegation from the World Bank and the Forest Investment Program Coordination Unit (FIPCU) at one of its sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This visit marks an important milestone in the development of our organization and paves the way for long-term collaboration around a shared vision for sustainable and resilient agriculture.
This visit provided an opportunity to present our vision of integrated agriculture, combining agroforestry, livestock farming, agricultural production and sustainable development in order to strengthen food security while preserving the ecosystems of the Congo Basin.
During the day, the founder of Venus Agricole and the Venus Agricole teams met with representatives from the World Bank to discuss our current projects and long-term vision. Discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities facing the Congolese agricultural sector, the development of local value chains, job creation, land restoration, and the role of agriculture in sustainable economic growth.
This meeting reflects a common ambition: to support initiatives capable of generating a lasting impact for communities, while strengthening the food and environmental resilience of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We sincerely thank the World Bank and UC-PIF for their trust and interest in our mission. We look forward to the next steps in this collaboration and the opportunities it will create for the communities we serve.
