Venus Agricole welcomes 20,000 hens to boost its poultry production

A new milestone has been reached at Venus Agricole with the arrival of over 20,000 hens, including 5,000 parent hens destined for chick production at our production site. This investment marks a significant step forward in the development of our poultry sector and in our ambition to strengthen local, sustainable, and accessible food production in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Over the next few months, these hens will be raised in conditions that promote their health, well-being, and growth. Thanks to a carefully selected diet and rigorous monitoring, they will gradually contribute to the development of our egg production and, eventually, to the production of poultry meat for the households, businesses, and institutions we supply.

This new production capacity is part of our integrated agricultural model. Part of our livestock feed comes from our own crops, particularly corn and soybeans, which allows us to better control our value chain, reduce our dependence on imported inputs and guarantee consistent quality throughout the production process.

The arrival of these 10,000 hens represents much more than a simple increase in our flock. It reflects our commitment to investing sustainably in high-performing agricultural sectors, creating local economic opportunities, and building an agriculture capable of feeding current and future generations.
